After reading the Jones & Warner (2016) article, address the following questions:
The paper mentions the IPCC target of keeping global warming to < 2 deg C. What cumulative CO2 emissions are required to achieve this (Gt)? The authors start with population model to 2100 and then project per person energy use. Describe their energy projection. Globally, how many GJ/person-year do they predict in mid-century and at 2100? The authors justify their projection, qualitatively, at the end of section 3 in terms of trends in developed and more populous developing countries. Describe their justification for an increasing global per capita energy consumption going significantly above 80 GJ/person-year. Fig. 3 has two plots that go a long way to summarizing the whole paper - provide a short interpretation of these two figures.
