Choose a peer-reviewed journal article that discusses disease prevention. Review articles and secondary articles may be used but editorials are not appropriate and will receive a zero for the assignment if used.
Select one(1) article from the following online journal links:
American Journal of Epidemiology: http://aje.oxfordjournals.org/
The Journal of Infectious Diseases: http://jid.oxfordjournals.org/

You must read the full article (not just the abstract). You may need to visit the APUS library to access the full article. Full articles within the last year may not be available.
After reading your selected article, post the following information:

Describe what the prevention method is. It could be a new screening method, vaccination, drugs, or other intervention.
Who was in the study population(s)/sample(s)?
What was the conclusion of the study?
Do you believe the study to be reliable and valid? Why or why not?

Hi Class,
About a year ago, my team was deciding on how to deliver assessment results and education for a group. We had already provided an introduction session for the group, giving an overview of the assessment and a short lesson to help participants understand how it connects to everyday life. A few members seemed skeptical about the assessment and seemed defensive before we even began.
Our team had varying thoughts on how to plan for session two, worried that the defensive group members could distract the others from understanding the group’s assessment results. We went back and forth on how to craft learning around the results while keeping the crowd focused. After a few attempts, we relied on a combo of Top Facilitation Focused Conversation Method and the Top Consensus Workshop Method to help us stay on track and ensure progress in the upcoming session. We had all received training on these programs and decided we needed to use the methods ourselves to decide how to plan the education session for this group. The focused conversation model helped us to keep our goal in mind, while the consensus model helped us to come to a decision on how to proceed.
I really like the consensus model: “the basic method to build consensus about a complex topic. It begins with a focus question, gets the group brainstorming responses, helps the group organize the ideas in clusters, enables the group to identify the core idea in each cluster and helps them determine next steps.” Everyone participates, all ideas are valued and the team works together to decide on which ideas and plans to choose.

Hello Class,
I have been in the military for 9 years and we do not have a union.
Unions are important for employees since they have protection against certain issues that may arise while in the company. Unions usually help the workers secure benefits, safe working conditions and better pay. Amazon recently made a union. It started as a response to the covid 19 pandemic and has gotten bigger since then. I know many friends that are in a union, and they love it because of the better pay Also, another company that is starting to unionize is Costco but Costco owned up and said that they have failed their employees if they feel they need to form a union. I would assume that the companies do not really like unions.
Unions favor their employees rather than the employer. Some of the issues that HR will encounter is open communication between them and the union. HR needs to tread carefully when dealing with union workers.
