The ART 203 Presentation is designed to solidify primary Interaction Design Themes as it relates to not only Video Game Design History but also, Video Game’s role in Art History. The goal is for you to choose ANY video game(s) you prefer and align it to the four key game design themes e.g., Lifestyle, Tribute, Pop Culture, Interaction. In total, you need to have three examples across each of the four themed categories. Be sure to refer to our discussions, assignments and tests.

Lifestyle = Game designers reflect society’s lifestyles using culture or sub-culture references in video games. They reference how people live, act, behave, etc. Identify examples where real-world lifestyles are mirrored in a video game. (one instance one slide) Provide a short description and screenshot for each example.
Tribute = Game designers often add objects, icons, interactions, visuals, etc. that pay tribute to or pay homage to cultural phenomenons, eg. previous subcultures, movies, artists, technologies, etc. Identify three examples where real-world tributes are echoed in a video game. (one instance one slide) Provide a short description and screenshot for each example.
Pop Culture = Game designers use content from pop culture and include it somewhere in the game. A Pop Culture example could be A character that uses dialogue however, it references a movie, event, or cultural phenomenon. Identify three examples where pop culture is referenced in a video game. (one instance one slide) Provide a short description and screenshot for each example.
Interactivity = Game designers are often inspired by other video games via gameplay, graphical interface design, animations, icons, colors, layouts, etc., to innovate within the video game industry. Identify three examples where interactive gameplay is referenced from a different video game.
